THE NATIONAL IETA CONFERENCE 2013

Call for Proposals for Parallel Papers and Teaching Demo

Background
In line with the attempts of the Indonesian government through the Ministry of Education and Culture to continue to improve the quality of the learning and teaching process of the English language at schools, and grabbing the challenges of The 2013 National Curricullum, it is crucial for English teachers/lecturers as the main actors and other parties interested in English Education to help themselves to improve their competencies. One of the ways to improve their competencies is through a professional development. Through a professional developmen, it is hoped that English teachers/lecturers/instructors can help themselves in revitalizing their professionalism.
In the current context, however, the professionalism of teachers still raises questions; for example how we define professionalism, how we develop it, and who plays a decisive role in promoting professionalism. Since this conference covers major topics, such as technology in language teaching, professional competence, teaching material development, classroom action research, reflective teaching, and evaluation issues, it is expected that the National IETA Conference 2013 becomes a fruitful and constructive forum for English educators to be more able to serve others, especially students at school far and wide.
